T43 Benchmarks? versus T42?

#1 Post by dfumento » Tue Mar 08, 2005 9:52 pm

I've noticed some people have received T43s with discreet GPUs (eg. X300 or X600). Can someone runs some benchmarks for us?
Can anyone do a comparison with the T42 with the 9600 GPU?

Thanks...

All I see are x300s. What models have the x600? How much VRAM on that platform?

The V3200 processor with 128MB RAM is based on the X600, so since the T43p isn't out yet there would be no benchmark for the X600.

See second line of the chart:

from what i understand the X600 going to replace the Fire GL on the 43p.
if i'm correct on this , will it have dedicated drivers for CAD like the GL is ?

i'm just trying to understand which one will be better for games X300 or X600.

Thanks Danny

Shoot, I wish I could've gotten a machine with one of those. Maybe in a couple of years when I have more money and the time is right. As an aside, will nvidia cards ever crop up in the T series line?

They tend to guzzle to much power and run far too hot. ATi chips are far more suited to ThinkPad's....

Hopefully within the next week, two max I will have a T43 14" SXGA X300 60GB 9-cell in my hands to review. I will post a link here when I've had a chance to play with it!
Have used just about every ThinkPad since the T42 days...
