Not when on the mastercard ibm site, you can get a new t42 2378-fvu
for 1440+tax
pm 1.7 w/2mb cache
40gb 5400rpm
sxga+ 14"
radeon 9600 64MB
802.11B/G wireless
1 year warranty

So you just need to upgrade the ram and the warranty, you have better graphics and a faster processor, In my opinion the couple hundred extra (after the upgrades) for a new t42 is well worth it.

I thought the current price was $1439.10. Where did you see it at $1340?

But still a gonga deal for a new T42. I paid $1489.10 just a month ago. I LOVE mine!!! I did upgrade memory and warranty to four years and added ThinkPad Protection Plan.

yeah, paid 1500+ (including tax) for mine also. where did you see the 1340 price. The only the t41 has going for it is the warranty and the RAM, but considering the price of a new one, that is a bit too much.
