Hard drive temp.

on my thinkpad t40, the hard drive temp. is 47c right now, and it keeps going up and down. Is this too high? How high should the temp be on the hard drive?

What is the exact model of the hard drive? You should be able to look up it's recommended operating temperature range online.

My T42 is often around that point, depending on what I'm doing. As measured by TPFanControl, with the caveat that I only display the GPU temp. for obvious reasons. Yes, it goes up and down a bit if I'm watching YouTube or playing music, rather than just browsing this forum.

Thanks! The range is 5C to 55C, so it was at 47C, so its still ok, but its 41C right now, so its good! Thanks!
