IBM t42 Wireless Problem

#1 Post by 4ckatro » Thu Aug 26, 2010 3:01 am

Hi!

I have a problem with my wifi in my t42 laptop. Last time when i use it there wasnt any problem. Since i turned off the wifi with fn+f5 then turn it on its isnt work fine.
In Win Xp the right side corner pop up a message : Wireless Network Detected ... click this message... when i click there, pop up the Wireless Network Connection but it said there isnt any avaible wireless network (but there is!).
So i cant connect to my network.
I tried to reinstall the driver and turn off/on but nothing happens.
If its found a wireless network wich doesnt need a wep key the windows try to connect but if its have a wep key (my network) i cant connect.
Sorry my bad english, i hope its understandable.

Download a copy of Access Connections, Hotkey Features and Wireless Drivers. You can see the type of wireless you have in Control Panel - System.

After installing and restart, try the Fn+F5. It should work. There are some posts that here that use XP's wireless to connect. I always use Access Connection and Fn+F5 with no issues. There are times I would experience your problem, and a driver re-install would normally solve it. This also depends on how well you know/use your OS and T42 drivers.

Try it or search the forum for more answers. Tell us which way you chose to solve your problem.

And have fun too.
