Ordered a T43p
Ordered a T43p
I ordered the T43p 2668-G2U, the wait time is 45 days for delivery. It has the 14" SXGA+ display, I only hope I'm not disappointed with the displays brightness and sharpness. With all the nice laptop displays available now I hope the 14" display can compete. I saw a Sony T250 10" laptop today and the display was amazingly bright and sharp, just beautiful.

I finally got around to loading my T43p and it is very nice. I have the 15 inch model but I can already tell you it is brighter than my same size T42p. Although that could be my new toy vision problem.

You mean you already have T43p with 15"UXGA with you? I thought these T43 series with 15"UXGA will be availble in April (from tabook)MobileGuru wrote:I finally got around to loading my T43p and it is very nice. Re: Ordered a T43p
I also ordered a T43p h2u, but my expected ship date is on the 14th of this moth. I was told by a rep that my order is being shipped from China on this date. Is this true? I thought these units were already in the US by now. If this is true I will have to wait two additional weeks instead of a few days after the 14th.

arwuah, please let us know when you recieve your T43p.
I was looking at T43p 2687-D5U but couldn't wait so I got 2668-84U (15"SXGA+) instead.
If they really are shipping out T43P, I will return mine and get T43P

When IBM announced the T43p they said they wouldn't start shipping until April, so it looks like they've pushed it up a couple of weeks.arwuah wrote:I also ordered a T43p h2u, but my expected ship date is on the 14th of this moth. Looks like you are the first one having a T43p, why not post some review and/or pictures and/or comparison with T42p? It is really hard to decide which one to buy.

My impressions..
The T43p is a very solid machine in every sense of the word. I can say that first difference I noticed between that an my T42p is that the screen seems to be much brighter and the colours are very robust. I wish I had my T42p here to take a split screen photo, but alas it is of for a demo in the cold north! I had to make due comparing the T43P to a T42 SXGA+ instead, which you can find in my photobucket. along with a head on shot of the box itself. I don't know if the picture will do it justice, but there is a nice difference especially in the white clouds.
The drive on this one is a 60GB 7200RPM and is very quiet when running, and the keyboard has the same old reliable sturdy feeling as the T4s before this one. The box seems very fast to me, then again it is a fresh image and I spent most of an evening tweaking it to hell and back. The fingerprint reader works great as does the new dvd-rw that now supports +R YAY! I burnt a disc at 2x today, but to be honest it was 2x media. I'll test tonite with faster media to confirm burn speed for those interested.
I am just in the process of downloading the WinBench applet and will run in a few once it comes in, but my butt-o-meter says she is faster by a bit that my T42p was. All in all a wonderful machine that may just make me go back to a T series from my beloved X40.
Any other questions let me know .. now that she has been announced!

MobileGuru,
Do you mind sharing any of your system tweaks? I usually tweak my machines after a clean windows install, and I am curious to know any type of thinkpad tweaks which may come in handy when I receive my machine.
Thanks in advance.
