T43 real identity...or is it a T43p?

#1 Post by billp117 » Sat Sep 11, 2010 12:38 am

I picked up a T43 2686-DGU. The bezel has T43 printed on it but ThinkVantage toolbox identifies it as a T43p. The screen is a 14" SVGA+. Is there some way to truly identify if it is a T43 or a T43p?

Thanks...

Hmm...it should be a T43...

Product: ThinkPad T43 2686-DGU [change]
Operating system: All [change]

Original description: P M 750(1.8GHz), 512MB RAM, 60GB 7200rpm HD, 14.1in 1400x1050 LCD, 64MB ATI Radeon X300, CDRW/DVDR, Intel 802.11bg wireless(MPCI), Modem(CDC), 1Gb Ethernet(LOM), UltraNav, Secure Chip, Fingerprint reader, 6 cell Li-Ion batt, WinXP Pro

Now, go into Display Properties. What GPU are you showing there - since that's the only real difference between standard and "p" models in the 14" format for a T4x machine...

What's the FRU number of the motherboard (underside between the RAM holder arms)?

If you go into BIOS, what machine type and model is listed?

The bios reads " 2686-DGU"...and the video chip is the ATI X300.
