You need to post the model number and type of your T41, the FRU number for each adapter, and the output voltage and amps of each adapter. The T41 generally (if not always) needs a 72 watt adapter at an output of 16 Volts at 4.5 amps. I have not seen an adapter with an LED except for some very old ThinkPads. ... JD Hurst

If the adaptor is no an IBM adaptor designed for that ThinkPad model, to be compatible it needs to fullfil these parameters;
- DC output with + in the inner layer and - in the outer layer of the plug
- 16V output
- 4.5A output (The power will always be 72W because 16V x 4.5A = 72W)
- Stability on any parameter mentioned above. (Usually electronics can tolarate up to a 10% in the margings) Any modern adaptor of any laptop brand should be ok with this requirement.
X220t IPS but but a bit unhappy with it
T60p 2007-93U 1600x1200 IPS (T42p is an overall better machine though. Lack of new IPS Thinkpads keeps me buying these older models!)
T42p 2373-KXU 1600x1200 IPS (The best ever!!)
A20p 2629-6UU 1400x1050 (My first Thinkpad!)

Ditto jdhurst
the one with the LED is old.
though you should be ok using it as a spare.
sounds like that's what the previou owner did.

I just looked at the old adapter I have with an LED. It is from a ThinkPad i (2611-410), has a 19 volt 2.4 amp output, and has a noisy output (when viewed on an oscilloscope) that is not healthy for modern electronics. As I noted earlier, please post the output specs of your adapters. The one I have and was thinking of earlier is NOT proper for any T. Do not use that one, even as a spare. ... JD Hurst

While we are on the topic of adaptors, does anyone use the iGo Juice or Power Everywhere? Are they reliable and stable? I plan to get one because I take 12-time-zones flights and don't want to be bored to death. (I've taken a few and they are unbearable!)
