T43p Hardware malfunction NMI: Parity check/Memory Parity Er

#1 Post by Dato2020 » Sun Sep 19, 2010 8:28 am

OK, I screwed up by placing my T43 in my luggage last week! Now after a short time, particularly if I move the screen, I get a blue screen and the above error message.

I have checked the RAM. I removed XP and installed Vista Ultimate. Now I just get a blue screen and no error message when I move the screen or press on the case. If I leave everything alone it will run fine, with only an occasional blue screen.

Any suggestions on how to fix would be very much appreciated.

Dato

UPDATE: Now the computer will not boot. No blinking on HD meter.

I got one long and two short beeps. IBM says: One long and two short beeps, and a blank or unreadable LCD.
System board
LCD assembly
DIMM

Is there a way of testing Mother Board? Any help would be appreciated.

This topic needs to be moved to the T4X forum where it will get the proper attention.

Thanks,

Thank you. I have it running now by removing the key board and pad cover. I tightened two screws by the hinge on the left side of the screen. Testing it now. if it does not resolve I will move as you suggest.

Again thank you.
