T43 Screen Expansion Issue

Hi,

I have a t43 with the latest 1.29 bios. The screen expansion feature has been working without issue for over a year.

Now everytime the system is rebooted the screen expansion feature will be reset to "off".

Things I have tried;

Making sure I am saving the correct setting in the bios before exiting.
Reseting to defaults then applying the new setting.

It works on the initial reboot, then goes back to "off" on the next boot.

Please advise as I am stumped.

Do you also have to reset date/time at every cold boot?
In that case you need a new CMOS battery.

Do you ever boot up attached to a dock or external display?
What is BIOS set to for Boot Display?
Seems to me I had that happen once when it was set for something other than "LCD Only."

Only the "HV Expansion" option resets to "off", all other bios settings are retained.

I tried changing the boot display to "Thinkpad LCD" but it made no difference.
