The Dothans you can use to replace the old Banias include:

Code: Select all

Model Number sSpec Nr. Frequency L2-Cache FSB	Mult Voltage
Pentium M 710 SL7V5 (B1) 1400 MHz 2 MB 400 MT/s 14x 0.988/1.34 V
Pentium M 715 SL7GL (B1) 1500 MHz 2 MB 400 MT/s 15x 0.988/1.34 V
Pentium M 725 SL7EG (B1) 1600 MHz 2 MB 400 MT/s 16x 0.988/1.34 V
Pentium M 735 SL7EP (B1) 1700 MHz 2 MB 400 MT/s 17x 0.988/1.34 V
Pentium M 745 SL7EN (B1) 1800 MHz 2 MB 400 MT/s 18x 0.988/1.34 V
Pentium M 755 SL7EM (B1) 2000 MHz 2 MB 400 MT/s 20x 0.988/1.34 V
Pentium M 765 SL7V3 (B1) 2100 MHz 2 MB 400 MT/s 21x 0.988/1.4 V
I don't see where you find your (wrong) voltage, they are all the same.

Hi,

Don't pick a 7x5'A' processor for a T40. Those are 'last incarnation', C0 microcode and may not be well recognized by the machine BIOS. So even if voltage will be no problem (motherboard adjusts to what the VID pins request), the microcode will / may be a stopper.

What IBM put in was SL7EN and SL7EM for 1.8 and 2.0 respectively.

If you want to be 100 percent on the safe side, those are your choices.

8) huh!, Motherboards adjusting to requested VID voltages?. This is great.
I would like to read this from available documents on the net.I have a lot
of free time ..for some weeks more... and I can put that to knowledge enhancement.
I also have a T400(4GB , p8600) which had just been used for playing that number puzzle,So I am feeling adventourous to play around with this T41(2374 7FU).
