strange dock II P/N

#1 Post by zver17 » Sat Mar 12, 2005 9:44 pm

I cannot find any references whatsoever for "IBM ThinkPad A T R X Dock II 62P4547 FRU P/N 13R0290" advertised on ebay as suitable for T40 etc. I have a T42 and would expect it to work, but wanted to confirm.. Does anybody know anything about this dock?

thanks Leon. It seems this type of dock comes without power supply. It may run on the T42 adapter (72W) but I suspect it might be best to get a true dock-II supply. Do you know what is the power rating for the standard dock II power supply and (ideally) its part number. thanks in advance for help.

are you sure it doesn't come with one? In any case ANY standard 72W IBM Power Supply will work.. there is no "official" separate one for the dock...

The Dock II comes with a built-in power supply and only requires an AC cord to operate.

The Mini-Dock comes with a separate 120W power supply for the unit that's approximately four times the size of the standard 72W T4X power supply.

Thanks James! The info I found said the Dock II needed 72W and didn't list a seperate Power Brick part #, so I assumed it was the same. So, zver17, "built in" is even better. I bet it comes with a cord. If not, a new one will only cost a few dollars.

Has anyone experience with DOCK-II (e.g. 2631-20U) and PCI frame grabber cards .. analog and/or digital video-IN? What card and what SW did you use?
