The hard drive has pooped the bed and I have to reinstall all the IBM software.
The drive had three partitions on it (Hidden Restore Partition, C: and D:)
Some sectors (alot actually) in the C: drive went bad, and in trying to reinstall the factory image, the damage to the sectors didn't allow for completion of the install process.
Luckily, I had a D: partition that was an extra storage/emergency partition, so when the factory image couldn't be restored on the C: portion of the drive (tons of errors), I installed a new copy of windows on the D: drive.
First using a generic XP install disc, I removed both the C and D partitions. The hidden IBM partition seems to still be there. Then I told the install disc to create a partition on what used to be the D partition. Once that was done, what was once the D: drive is now the 'C:' drive.
Install went fine.
Now I have to install the drivers. The first one I will install is the wireless driver.
The webpage for the wireless card is:
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... MIGR-55386
Which one do I install? I'm pretty sure that it's
ThinkPad 802.11bg wireless LAN Mini PCI adapter
and not
Intel PRO/Wireless 2200bg, 2915abg Mini PCI adapter
Once that is done, is there an all in one link where I can get all the individual drivers installed?

Re: Reinstalling T42 Drivers without using Restore Partition 237
Continuing to use that corrupt hard disk is asking for a disaster to happen sooner rather than later.
Buy a new hard disk (PATA, up to 320GB such as WD Scorpio Blue) and use the Restore CDs to reinstall Windows. Then use System Update the way Neil advised.
