Problem with displaying on external monitor

#1 Post by icecold1001 » Thu Oct 21, 2010 3:35 am

I have a T43 with Intel Express Chip, model no. 1872-BA2. Recently, I have this issue of not able to display on an external monitor. Just upgraded to Win 7 but I am quite certain the external display was still okay after upgrade.

Can anyone advise what could be causing the problem? Win 7 or display port? How I can check whether the port is the problem? Lastly, do I need to change the whole MB if port is faulty?

Hope someone can help me as the problem has been bugging me for some time and I need to use external display in my line of work.

Thanks

Boot up a Linux Live CD. Does it still fail?

Ok, I found that out through Google. Will try that and see how. Thanks for the advice.

Not sure if it is the same with newer Thinkpads, but older Thinkpads required hooking up the external monitor prior to booting the machine.
