The fan on my trusty T42 (2379 RFU 14.1 inch) runs full blast all the time, is very noisy, and also makes the pulsing sound. I think it is high time to change it.
The problem is, I would like some confirmation regarding the right fan. Searching on this forum, it seems that the 41W5204 (long M10 fan) is the one recommended, but I have conflicting information:
[1] The fan that I currently have has a yellow sticker that says ''91P9251 | FRU Fan Long 91P9252 | Made in China Furukawa Electric Co., Ltd'. (Two FRU numbers.
It looks like a long fan in that it extends over to the GPU (I'm guessing).
Unfortunately I can't find neither FRU or my model number on Lenovo's website.

[2] After putting me on hold for 20 minutes, Lenovo customer service says that the fan I need is the 26R7860, which is a short fan.
Maybe this is because I had warranty service done on my mainboard a few years ago, I have no idea. (I had the 'Pick up by the corner; computer dies.' issue)
And I still don't know what the difference between the plain long fan and M10 long fan.
Am I good with the 41W5204?
