Recently i wanted to screw the parts back .I saw a funny white plastic part
which should go on the lower side of the board.where is it placed and for what purpose?.

my working T41 --2374-7FU with a transplanted dothan 1.7 cpu,1.5GB,160GB,..

This is a heatsink support structure, originally placed on the bottom side of planar. It contains holes for heatsink's screws. Without this part you are not able to fasten heatsink.
