Welcome to the forum and thanks for posting this link/guide, I'm certain it will be appreciated by people attempting to run W7 on these GPUs.

FYI, for those still unhappy with solitaire games giving you the tacky "software rendering" message on their initiation because you are running under good old VGA (as if to ask, "Who are you, dude, Fred Flintstone or Betty Rubble?"):

I recently installed Win7 on my T41 2373-7FU. Although Lenovo has moved items to its own servers since above earlier posts, I have installed the XP ATI Radeon driver 2KXP_INF Version 8.133.2.1.1.1-070206a-043154c (module cx_43154) from Lenovo site (otherwise as described by Adrián in 11/4/2010 post) into the XP drivers for the display and she is somewhat stable but has BSoD'd three times in three days. Have yet to capture any details, since Win7 seems to be ignoring my expressed setup wishes and has not created dumps.

Will be back with more info if anything resembling progress or wisdom evolves. :|

As they should have had Tarzan tell you in the movies, it's a jungle out there.

The driver I got is not a Radeon 9000 and I've stopped seeking one, grown weary of how many in cyberspace are using my desires to try to get stuff I that don't really want loaded onto my machine. (Fat chance, folks.)

The word I get is this whole thing is about a standards food fight between old XDDM and new WDDM. Reminds me of the days of early railroad barons. If I change my track width, your locomotives won't run over here. (ha, ha.) Well, she who laughs last laughs best. If they change the rules of storage management, a war is bound to break out.

They say a word to the wise is sufficient, but who knows. Maybe an unnamed somebody needs to re-evaluate the odds on (if the truth be known) exactly how many would decide to live in XP world forever and ever, how many would go visit their nearest Apple Store, and how many daring souls would run off to become freedom fighters in some Linux encampment and abandon top-down management entirely. Hey, it's a new age.

As they say during a drought, pray for rain. I'm off to fiddle with something else. Maybe OS/2 or heiroglyphics will become all the rage. Never can tell.

This might be off topic but on point. My t42 BSOD'd with win7 because it don't support ATI 7500. I chose the ATI 9000 standard driver instead and am no longer zombsod.
