Greetings All! I purchased a new thinkpad using the visa card special last week. Ordered on Sunday night, received it on Thursday from Hong Kong - amazing. I got the 2373 L1U with 15" XGA screen. I'm 55, and for my eyes, that's the smallest text I can read without reading glasses, so that is actually what I wanted. I do keep several programs open, but never need to have more than one on the screen at a time. And the price was great, $1499, down from $2200. I absolutely love this notebook. Fast, nice screen (no dead pixels

), very quiet, runs cool, and has lots of little things, like the dual pointing devices, access IBM button (which is really great if you have a problem). I am having a blast with the fingerprint reader, since my memory for those passwords is slipping. I also picked up a mini-dock for work and have a 17" flat screen (yes it's set for 1024 x 768, sorry I can't see), two printers, four USB devices and keyboard hooked up. What a pleasure to come to the office and just snap the notebook in place.
I have also been keeping the notebook on 24 hrs a day since I set it up. I do work at home as well as at the office and the notebook switches effortlessly from my work LAN to my home wireless LAN. I have been using standby mode when not is use, I like that better than hibernate.
I keep five business applications open at all times and am on the internet often. I have yet to have one lock-up (fingers remain crossed).
Most of the time I am on AC power, but yesterday I was out and kept it on battery from 8 AM until 9:30 PM with frequent use and going into standby after 10 minutes of inactivity. At 9:30 PM I still showed 33 % of the battery left. This thing has great power management.
I guess you can tell I am very pleased with my purchase. I was very close to buying an HP nc6000 based on some reviews I read until I cam across this deal - it had more and cost less, and you can't beat the build quality.
Sorry for being long winded, but when I try to tell this stuff to my wife, she....well you know what she says

.
