Wireless connection lost when lid closed
When I'm in the bedroom and using my laptop, I lose wireless when I close the lid. With it still open I'm getting around 68-73% signal.
I have a wireless a/b/g minipci card with driver version 3.1.102.27
Is there some power setting that I need to change to not lose connection while the lid is closed? When I open it, it's ready without even waiting.

That seems strange because I close my T42 when I'm not using it and it retains the signal and connection. Perhaps you should upgrade your drivers for it. The latest drivers are version 4.0.100.140.
Here's the link to the file and readme with a list of changes from previous versions as well as any driver limitations (other things you might need installed before installing the drivers):

Do you have your power settings set to "Do nothing" when the display is closed?trailofdead wrote:Is there some power setting that I need to change to not lose connection while the lid is closed? When I open it, it's ready without even waiting.

I'll install the new drivers this weekend and see if it helps.

If I stream music off of my network it stops after 5 seconds or so. If i'm playing it from my hard drive everything is fine.mdarnton wrote:Mine does something similar--if I'm playing music on the hard drive and close the lid, the music stops after a minute. Likewise, I've got everything set to keep going with the lid closed. This just started happening on its own one day, and I didn't make any changes for it to happen.
I updated the drivers and it does seem to work a LITTLE better. However, AC now reports the signal strength incorrectly. It reports it as MUCH higher than it actually is. Windows reports it correctly though. What''s wrong w/ the new drivers?
