T42 Replacing wireless card

#1 Post by bretddog » Tue Nov 09, 2010 1:11 pm

Hi,

I have a T42 (2376 DN9), which possibly have a problematic wireless card. At least I have big troubles connecting this computer to the router, while two other laptops works ok. Of course I tried to reinstall everything from scratch, but same problems; seeing one network some times while other sees 5-6, and intermittently dropping out connection..

I see some write about "onboard" wireless card on T4x laptops, but I assume it has a replaceable mini-pci wireless card?

So.. The main question is, which wireless card should should I get for replacement? There seem to be so many type versions. I live in Europe, if that matters.. I saw someone comment that specific card for Euro-zone would be preferable? But it must work outside Europe to.

Would appreciate any technical insight and suggestions..

Look for an Intel Pro Wireless 2200bg card (mPCI). The FRU#'s to search for are 93P3483 and 93P3485
