T-42 Special While supplies last

#1 Post by BruisedQuasar » Wed Nov 10, 2010 10:15 am

Tigerdirect.com has 15" T-42 on special, $329.99, about $8 S\H... These are off lease units. My 14 years of experience with Tigerdirect is they honor their general 30 day satisfaction guarantee and their off-lease and refurbished products are class 'A', like new. RB-NBK-055146-AO

Specs: 15" TFT Widescreen 1024-768 display, ATI Mobility Radeon graphics, 1GB DDR RAM, 80 GB hdd, Super multi bruner, Pentium M 1.8Mhz (single core), 9-cell battery, fingerprint bio reader, Windows XP Pro 32-bit.

Only they sell these machines for about twice as much as they are worth if you judge by the going price on these forums. A "like new" T42 is still outdated and likely to fail, and the 15" XGA LCD is a show stopper for many...

I've just purchased off-lease T400 for my mother. $480, the condition is also class 'A' like new (there is not even any wear on the rubberised lid, and the hinges are tight), there is 2 years of original Lenovo warranty left. 14" 1440*900, X4500MHD, 2GB, 160GB, C2D 2.53GHz, 9-cell battery... i don't see the point of purchasing such an T42, especially considering these graphics unsoldering problem i've heard about.
Lifebook P1032 (1024*600 8.9") => Averatec AV1000 (WXGA 10.6") => Kohjinsha SH6 (1024*600 7.2") => Sharp M4000 (WXGA 13.3") => X200-AFFS, dead => X200s-AFFS, later -PVA => X220 4290RV5 + Intel 310 80GB, T420s 4173KSU + FHD IPS + Sandisk Z400s 128GB
