T42 has problem with WPA2 wireless encryption

#1 Post by twillis449 » Fri Nov 12, 2010 9:56 am

Hi All

After a disk crash (and replacement) I had to restore a T42 to factory default settings. The only problem is that the supplied drivers / software setup doesn't give me the option to specify WPA2 as the wireless encryption standard (which my home wireless router is using) for wireless connectivity. So ... no wireless connection on the T42. Is there some updated driver software that I can download from the Lenovo site which will get me connected to a WPA2 network?

Thanks!

Pick your choice for the missing driver(s): http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... MIGR-55386
Also install the latest SystemUpdate 3.14. That should get you whatever is missing in one fell swoop.
