Playing 1080p HD videos on a T43 w/ ATI X300

Hi,

I have a spare T43 with the ATI X300 card connected to my HDTV. It plays back 720p videos just fine but stutters noticeably when playing 1080p video files. Has anyone with a similar laptop been able to get it to play full HD content smoothly? I'm running Windows 7 and using Gom and KM Player.

On T43p with Dothan 2.13GHz and FireGL V3200:

- 720p OK
- 1080p - most of a movie is OK except some quick scenes; then it lags sometimes

If you want to play FullHD videos, obtain faster laptop or home-theatre PC.

Yeah, the HD video decoding didn't really show up until the Radeon HD 2x00 line.

I sometimes watch 1080i on my T43 (HDTV - MPEG2, which the X300 does decode in hardware), and it struggles a bit on that.
