I guess the shock system is similar to that of the TPs.. but other companies are bound to catch on eventually if it becomes popular.. just look at flat screen TVs..
Other than that... it's just following the trend of notebooks these days.. Portability, lightweight and performance..
If they increase the number of options on the S100, it may become a major threat to the T43 for those that want a firewire/Geforce solution... At the moment, the 14" XGA monitor and Geforce Go 6200 poses a threat only in the lower end of the T43s...
If Toshiba gives it a SXGA or UXGA upgrade and manages to fit the 6800 in there.. then we got a brawl brewing..
