side-by-side 14.1" vs. 15" T42 Pictures

#1 Post by w0qj » Fri Jun 11, 2004 11:27 pm

Here are the Five side-by-side 14.1" vs. 15" T42 Pictures!
(look near the bottom of the long web page)

the machines are in Japanese, but you get the idea on size.
(only wish they included a ruler in the pictures to so we have easier time discerning the actual sizes.)

Thought we'll share with everyone, since there's been so many questions on this question.
source: 2 weeks ago thru this same forum (sorry, i forgot who was the first one to post this).

personally, since I'm carrying my computer to and from work 2-3 times a week, I'll go for a 14.1" T42.
the 15" T42 seems a bit heavy/bulky, and it definitely won't fit in a coach seat in an airplane.

the 15" T42's bulk seems to come from 2 areas:

a) the 15"'s thick FlexView LCD cover (notice how much ticker the LCD cover is as compared to the 14.1"--perhaps making the 15" T42 "top-heavy".

b) the width/length increase to to physically bigger 15" LCD screen, obviously.

How is that thing going to fit in the batcar!!
These are pretty telling pictures, if I was undecided before no longer. I don't think I could go back UP in size after going from A20 to T41, and now up toe T42 15" They will have to learn to make them smaller for me.

Are 14.1" T42's the same size as T41's?
