Unless you tell us what you use it for, I am afraid we cannot help you. Oh, and welcome to the forum!

nice system, have you checked with Bill, host of this site, for a quote on this or a comparable system?

Well I will be using it for college next year. I wan't something I can compose some music on, Fruity loops, guitar tracks pro, etc..Also some light gaming if it can handle it. The price is after the friends and family discount my gf's mom is a vice president of sales.

Do you really need the UXGA display and the FIREGL T2 video card?

If you don't and it sounds like you may have the EPP discount, you can move down to the 2379DXU and save over $900:
2379DXU - 1.7 GHz P-M, SXGA+, Radeon 9600, 7200rpm 60GB harddrive, only 6 cell battery, but has 3 year warranty vs 1 year (unless you upgraded, 2378 models have 1 year standard warranty)

or the 2379R9U for almost $750 less - 1.8GHz P-M, SXGA+, Radeon 9600, 7200rpm 60GB harddrive, 9 cell battery, 3 year warranty

or if you must have the UXGA and the FIREGL T2, the 2379DYU is $186 less, and you get the same as your system plus the dvd-rw recorder and 3 year warranty, but only a 6 cell battery. You can buy an extra 9 cell battery for about $100.

If you're going to be lugging the thing with you between classes, etc. I strongly recommend the 14" SXGA+ (1400 x 1050). They're feel much lighter and smaller than the 15" and they use less battery power. I bring my 14" SXGA+ unit with me everywhere.

This unit is a very good one that people have been getting.
T43 2668-72U Pentium M 760 2.00 512MB 14.1" SXGA+ X300 80HS DVD±RW ✳ Intel 11a/b/g Mod/Blue Finger

for about $1650 or $1750 EPP
X201s: 1440x900 LED backlit 2.13 GHz, 8 GB, 160 GB Intel X25-M Gen 2 SSD, 6200 a/b/g/n, BT, 6-cell, 9-cell, Windows 7 Ultimate x64 SP1, Verizon 4G LTE USB modem, USB 2.0 external optical drive, Lenovo USB to DVI converter
