#1 Post by sneakyazn » Wed Mar 16, 2005 10:36 pm

Has anybody had experience with this from IBM? It shows that my t41p is supported, but when i try to run it i get a message that says "invalid machine type"

I'm having the exact same problem with my A21p. Per IBM site it's supported, but I get the same "invalid machine type".

is your model a refurbished unit? I wonder if it has something to do with that. when i do a general search for my hardware 2373-xtx, it doesn't even show up. I am curious if the software installer goes by that specific number and perhaps ours does not match the installers database.

1) The mother board of my A31P has been changed by IBM .

It is not the original one of the 2653H5G.

2) I agree with you.

It has something to do with this specific number and ours does not match the installers database.

It is a pity because on my X31 and T41P , the software installer give a huge improvement to my machines

I believe my A21p was a refurbished unit. A21p 2629-RRE.
In addition, I had a new motherboard installed last year

Does the "Detect my System" Feature at the IBM web page work for you?

In my case it does not.
It comes back with: Information for '-' was not found.
