delete hidden partition
I have ordered IBM thinkpad recovery CD for my T42 and am planning to delete the hidden partition and partition the hard disk. However, the IBM support guy told me that it will void the warranty.
It does not sound right at all. Is it ture?
Thanks

THe IBM guy is an idiot. If you have the CDs, you don't need the hidden service partition taking up 4 GB of your drive.
However, their response to many software problems is to restore from the service partition, which clearly you can't do without it.
don't worry about the warranty.

Thanks all for the reply.
I am all right with all the software problems. I guess I only need IBM customer service only with hardware problems.
I have read the pinned thread of how to do a clean installation of WinXP. It seems there is not so many things to install. How come the hidden partition are 4 GB. Are most of them junk?
