Thinkpad T42 power drain in suspension/sleep mode?

#1 Post by arabianights » Mon Jan 24, 2011 11:50 pm

hey, guys

I recently bought a used T42 off ebay to replace my broken T23.

It runs windows xp Pro and after a week of use i noticed that if I left it in suspension mode while on battery, the battery power drains rather quickly. after left maybe 2 or 3 days in suspension mode, the machine suddenly woke up and gave several beeping sound before powers down. I remember on my T23, I could easily get several days in suspension/sleep while on battery.

Is this a normal for T42?

thanks

I had this and found that I had several scheduled tasks causing the laptop to power up and shutdown. Look under Control panel/ Scheduled Tasks and see if you anything there.
