Bios and Embedded Controller

Hi,
i'm not sure if it's a true problem - but maybe you can help me.
I have a t41p and i have installed the new ibm driver install program, yesterday.
After determining which drivers were missing, the new bios and new embedded controller were prefered to install.
But the program installed the bios 3.14 first - without any troubles.
(Shouldn't the ECP be installed first?)
After restarting the ECP install started but failed cause of a floppy drive error?

System seems to run stable but i have this configuration:

BIOS-Version: 3.14 (1RETDIWW)
Datum des BIOS : 20.01.2005
Integrierter Controller - Version: 3.03

Is it possible to run this bios with this lower ECP? Bios FAQ suggested ECP 3.04

Any ideas?

Unfortunately I cannot answer your question, however I can state than when the I did the same update on my T40 (ie software installer put Bios before Embedded controller) I had no problem whatsoever. Maybe your BIOS is sort of reset and is trying to find a floppy? have you checked that?

i have set bios settings to default und disabled the floppy drive..

unfortuantly while embedded controller setup short before updating an diskette drive error appears.

No Chance to continue... but i havnt any diskette drive.

Just use the non-diskette version!

well i used this

install & system restart works fine, but just short before updating (in DOS), after clicking through the update dialog, an diskette drive error window appear :/

I'm having exactly the same problem on my T42p.
Downgrading the BIOS to the original version also didn't help.

My old setup is Embedded Controller 3.02 and BIOS 3.06f. Machine is a 2373-W6M.

And yes, I tried the non-diskette version of the update.
