All T40s are WiFi upgradable by simply installing the mini-PCI card. The antennae are already installed in the LCD.

I added the IBM a/b/g wireless card to my T40. It didn't take long to install at all, and it's worked wonderfully over the past year and a half.

If you don't need the 'a' capability I'd recommend going with the Intel 2200BG card. It's 30 to 40 $US cheaper than the IBM a/b/g.

Go to "Upgrades, Accessories, and Parts." You should be able to find a list of available networking equipment.

I have the IBM card in my T41 and it works perfectly, flawlessly, wonderfully and reliably as a NIC *and* with Access Connections 3.7. Outstanding.

I just put the Intel 2200bg card in an associate's T42. The card works well. It does not work well with Access Connections - doesn't seem to support WPA-PSK even though the Intel card and Windows networking does. I have the newest Intel driver and I installed that *before* installing Access Connections. I am very disappointed in the Intel card. I know others make it work, but the IBM card working so well, I recommend it, even though I paid more.

iminlovewith,

You might check out the "User for Sale" forum. I have a new IBM a/b/g II card for sale.
