I was wondering why IBM does not offer a T42 with a 15'' screen with a resolution of SXGA and a 128 MB FIRE GL T2 graphics card? To me, this would be the best configuration, I think.

Because the "p" series is a workstation model (as is that graphics card) For 3-D modeling and such you want higher resolution (higher density) Seems kind of silly pushing less pixels with a high-end gpu optimized for OpenGL. You can get the 14.1" with that config and a SXGA+ resolution (once again a better resolution/pixel density)
In otherwords, the business market isn't interested in such a configuration and they buy a lot more than the consumer-level.
