I searched around thinkwiki.org and found some page that indicated various model DVD-RW drives fit the T41.
It listed the UJ862E. There was no stipulation of PATA or SATA versions of the UJ862E if they existed.
I checked ebay and found them to be pricier than I thought they'd be for a used item.
I found one that was cheaper than the others and purchased it.
I know the T41 was created in the days of PATA but hey, IBM does what they want with their ultrabays.
Maybe any UJ862E would work with a piece I could take off the back of my DVDROM to match-up with whatever connector IBM used inside the ultrabay slim. Also, since thinkwiki.org listed this specific model for the T41, well I wouldn't think a SATA model of this DVDRW drive that would have come out years later would have the same model number as the perceivably PATA burner thinkwiki.org listed.
Well, the beast arrived today and it's SATA. Is there anyway to adapt it to my T41?
Was there ever a UJ862E that was PATA?
Thank you
T41 DVDRW Drive

Just return the drive...nothing you can do to make it work...
