Date of manufacture & Processor Question

#1 Post by thetimerider » Fri Mar 25, 2011 9:43 pm

On a T43 2668-42u, on the bottom for the date (06/08) is that reversed. June of 08 or Aug. 06.
I know on my dock II it say (04/08) and i have the original box that is postmarked Aug. 04.

Also it seems like i have seen a T43 from 2008 with core duo processor, would they have come with either a PM, or a core duo?

T60 was the first model with the Core duo. T4x all had pentium M. I have no idea about the manufacture dates, but aug. 2006 seems more reasonable to me for a t43 than 2008.

the date is in "yy/mm" format.
you're looking at an august, 2006 manufacture date.

sarbin, that's what i thought but you never know when they might change something like that.
My older laptops are dated that way.

As far as my ThinkPad-related memory goes - and that is pretty far - the dates were always in the format that sarbin has referred to...

The youngest T4x I've ever seen - and I've seen thousands - was a T43 built in January of 2007.

I went and looked at the unit tonight and yeah the guy say's Aug. 06 sound right after i pointed out his advertising mistake.

He wants a "fist full of dollars" for it, it is in pretty good shape with a full 2 gig memory upgrade.

Product: ThinkPad T43 2668-42U [change]
Operating system: All [change]

Original description: P M 750(1.86GHz), 512MB RAM, 40GB 4200rpm HD, 14.1in 1024x768 LCD, 64MB ATI Radeon X300, DVD, Wireless upgradeable, Modem, 1Gb Ethernet, UltraNav, Secure chip, 6c Li-Ion batt, WinXP Pro

This is as basic as ATi-equipped T43s come. I understand that it's in good shape and has 2GB of RAM.

If he wants more than $150-175 for it, tell him to take a long walk on a short stick...

Economy sucks pretty much everywhere...

I'm dead certain that you can do better in Forum's Marketplace - and no, I don't have a T43 to sell you... :D

Ive been watching the market place pretty closely, seems when the sweeter deals come up i don't necessarily have the cash and those deals go pretty fast. But im sure the right deal will come up at the right time sooner or later.

Gotta hit the sack now, have a good night.
