Scrolling problems with Trackpoint (with restricted rights)

#1 Post by JD24 » Thu Mar 24, 2005 4:36 am

Hallo,

i have problems with the UltraNav scrolling feature with the
Trackpoint (middle button).
I created a user with restricted rights and i can't modify my
ultranav settings to enable the scrolling feature. There
is no problem when i log in as administrator.

I noticed that the process SynTPEnh.exe isn't running and i
can't start it manually.

Any ideas?

Can you give the user admin rights, log in and set up the scrolling, then log out and revoke the admin rights? I'm not sure if the scrolling would still work, but it's worth a shot.

hmm, the new trackpoint drivers run as a service, don't they?

if you're running xp pro then start>run secpol.msc

loosen up the appropriate restriction a bit. if I can find time to take a look at it later I'll try to be more specific. Local Policies. Remember, if Domain Policies are specified, they will override what's set here. If you're not logging onto a Domain that's a non-issue.

careful though thats not a place to play around! akin to regedit.
