Recently, I updated some of the drivers with my T42.
1) Power management driver
I uninstalled the old one (1rku008ww.exe) and installed the new one (1ku08ww.exe), but with the new driver, when I closed the lid, my T42 would shut down (instead of going into stand-by as set in the power options) So, when I opened the lid, my T42 would re-boot (instead of coming back from the stand by). So, I had to go back to the old driver.
2) Modem driver
I uninstalled the old one (1yma09ww.exe) and installed the new one (1uma18ww.exe), but the modem, when dialing, would make strange sound in stead of normal dialing sound) So, I had to go back to the old driver.
Am I the only one to have problems like these? Or, am I doing something wrong?
Problems with some updated drivers ?

Tone or pulse dialing in France and was your system configured accordingly?3to4 wrote:2) Modem driver

A good point. It is tone dialing here (maybe not all over France). Actually, after updating the modem driver, I did not change any setting. But, the modem with the new driver, although it was making strange sound, did connect to the internet. If the modem was configured for pulse dialing, it did not connect, did it?
Incidentally, in my post, I inverted the new modem driver and the old one.
"1uma18ww.exe" is the old one, that makes normal sound.

I wouldn't think so - so check that off the list of possible causes.3to4 wrote:If the modem was configured for pulse dialing, it did not connect, did it?
