T43 UUID Help
T43 UUID Help
Hi all:
I successfully replaced my T43 MOBO yesterday (got a new one off the bay). Eveything is working great until when I tried doing system update. I think it is caused by the uuid not updated. I understand I need a HMD 7.4 (?) to update the bios? Can someone tell me where I can find it? It seems quite difficult to find the disk image.
Thanks so much,
Gary

Re: T43 UUID Help
The diskette that you're referring to is only available to authorized Lenovo service providers and business partners.

Re: T43 UUID Help
Thanks for the information. Is there any other way to update the UUID beside going HMD route? Thanks.

Re: T43 UUID Help
You don't really need the UUID.
What's missing or wrong is the TYPE/Model (such as 2373-47U) in the BIOS, compared to what is in the Windows Registry.
If you do a BIOS update, it shows you an option to change the TYPE. Use the info from the bottom of your laptop.
If the BIOS is already at the newest and it won't let you do this , first do a BIOS downgrade to a previous version, then update again.
Good luck.
