Hey, I think you guys where right about the motherboard going bad in this post: http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=95785
This morning, I turned on my thinkpad, and it said Fan Error, and shut down. I turned it on again, and it booted up fine, and the fan was fine too. Could this be yet another sigh of a motherboard failure, just like the USB ports in working in 2.0 mode?

Fan error is just that, nothing to do with a GPU or Southbridge.
Replace the fan to solve the problem.

if you like some challenge. you can try to clean your fan. or else just get the new one from ebay.
