2378FVU warranty question.

If I buy a T42 2378FVU from IBM by using Americanexpress card, will the warranty be automatically extended for one more year? How does one claim warranty from AE after the original one expires? Will IBM honor it? anyone had experiences before? Thanks a million!

Not sure about the normal Green card, but with the Gold card the answer is yes.

One calls AMEX and files a claim, then you mail and/or FAX them a copy of the original receipt, a copy of the warranty and a copy of the repair estimate. They will pay to repair the unit up to a major percentage of the original purchase price, but at a certain point they will simply refund the purchase price.

CAUTION! None of the foregoing applies to used or refurbished equipment.
