HELP PLEASE!!!

#1 Post by Merlyn_3D » Sun Mar 27, 2005 12:50 am

Can someone who has the Thinkpad power management and battery maximiser installed please export the following registry tree into a file and e-mail it to me? I lost mine without backing it up and need it desparately:

HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-1484400983-1698683601-3399203189-1004\Control Panel\PowerCfg

Please e-mail to Merlyn3D@gmail.com

Thanks!

These just look like the default power schemes for the Battery Maximiser - are they that important? If you reinstall Maximiser they'll come back.

Anyhoo, emailed, though at least two settings here are custom-user ones. Hope it helps.
IBM ThinkPad T42p (2373-7XU): 1.8GHz/1024MB, 15" UXGA, DVD-RW, 80GB, 2200b/g.
T42 (2374-3VU): 1.7GHz/512MB, 14.1"SXGA+, DVD-RW, 80GB, 2200b/g.

Thanks, I got them and merged them but they didn't seem to fix the problem. For some reason, I lost all the default thinkpad power schemes. I also can't seem to get them back if I just uninstall and reinstall. I've tried 10 times. Can anyone help get the defaults back?

If Battery Maximizer were uninstalled, the ThinkPad still has power properties, so the answer to your problem probably lies elsewhere. Try uninstalling and reinstalling the ThinkPad Configuration Utilities.

BTW, to the best of my knowledge, it is not necessary to muck around in the registry to adjust or change the IBM suite of applications.

The defaults aren't from Battery Maximiser - that program gets it from Windows' Control Panel - Power.
