Backlight problem on t41

#1 Post by masterjet » Mon May 16, 2011 2:31 pm

Hello guys i have a t41. Worked fine untill now.

When the pc starts at maximum lcd brightness it works about 30-40s and the backlight dies. When lowering the brightness and reseting the backlight with Fn+F3 then it works fine.
First it turned of at max brightness, now at level 6 it works only 5-10 min. Stable at level 5 i think.

Exactly the same problem
Also on max brigthness on power invertor the transformator begins to "whistle", after that the backlight goes off.

I thought there are like some blown capacitors, but theyr all smd's. Any ideas? Or maybe you know some schematics for t4x series invertors?

Also my CCFL lamp is old and on lower brightness it gives redness. Maybe the old CCFL makes a high power consumption?

Yes. The inverter senses the high current draw and shuts it down.
