T42P 2Ghz vs T60 1.8Ghz x2 which one is better ?

T42P 2Ghz 15'' fire gl 128 ,1600X1200 195euro vs T60 1.8Ghz x2 14'' display 1024 X768 (extra 50euro to buy it ) which one is better ?

I also have the posibilty to buy t41p ,1.7ghz,VIDEO 128MB FIREGL T2 ATI Mobility ,SXGA 1400 x 1050 resolution 134euro.

I need to use windows 7 and use pc to general home use . I writte now from my ibm t60 1400x1050 ,which is very good, I also have one ibm t40 which runs extremly slow (actually it kills me ! )compare with t60 ,no way i can put win 7 on it . I need another laptop and need one to work very smooth with windows 7 . I like more t4x series design but I will choose the better one from your experience with P series , I never test it one. If my actual t40 runs slow because of graphic card I would like t41p because is cheaper but will he works well under windows 7 ? I need atleast 1400x1050 resolution ,I give it t60 as comparison hoping you will recomand t42p :) People say t60 its much better than t4x series ,but is he better than t42p 2ghz MOBILITY FIRE GL T2 - 128 MB ?

The biggest issue the T4x have is the graphics card BGA solder. If you can live with that risk, then choose what you want. I personally would reccomend the T60, since it will run 7 like a dream, is more powerfull, can take more (cheaper) ram, and has a sata hard drive for easier upgrades. If the screen on the t60 is a big issue, you can find a replacement sxga+ and swap it out after - YMMV, but those are my reccomendations.

the graphics may work better, but overall system performance will be better with the t60 (it is almost 2x as powerfull) There are numerous posts about the soldering issues, but the graphis performance of the T40 is pretty poor nowadays, with 32mb video ram - they are good to run xp, and that is about it.
