T43p motherboard questions

#1 Post by markc987 » Sat Jun 18, 2011 6:05 pm

I am looking to revive a 15" T43p with a dead motherboard. I have been able to find a
motherboard from a 14" T43p so I am wondering if I can use this or are there differences
in size or layout of ports and connectors?

On a related note my research indicates a T43p should have a firegl v3200 chip on
it but the chip on the old board says ati x600. Does that mean that someone replaced the motherboard? The
part number is 39T0477.

X600 is the equivalent of V3200. PC Doctor will "see" V3200 as being X600.

All T43p boards came with V3200.

The motherboards are the same size between 14" and 15" models, the only difference is the interposer piece that appears on 15" units, but that's the part of the frame, and not the board itself.
