Would you happen to know how to take the palm rest off? I don't have much money now, so I won't be bring it to the repair dude.Neil wrote:It's not at all uncommon for the palm rest to crack in that spot. I have a one that is cracked there too. Best fix is to replace the palm rest. Sometimes you can buy one in the forum market place, or eBay.
Thank you very much!Neil wrote:If I'm not mistaken there are nine screws to remove for the palm rest to come off, and two of them are also keyboard screws. Two additional screws and the keyboard will be loose and easily removed. While not absolutely necessary to remove the keyboard to get the palm rest off, it does make it easier to remove both. I always remove the keyboard first then the palm rest, and replace the palm rest first followed by the keyboard.
