Request: anyone with a multimeter and a R52 w/ SXGA+ screen

As the title says, I'd like a bit of help from someone who's got an SXGA+ R52 and who also happens to be handy with a multimeter.

If you fit that description and would be willing to disassemble the screen portion of your machine and take some measurements of a couple LVDS pins, I'd be quite grateful. I would offer cake, but since GLaDOS has pretty much screwed that up for everyone, we can figure out something else. I've got a fair amount of old ThinkPad hardware if you're interested. Or if you're in the Chapel Hill/RTP area I can buy you a beer or something.

At any rate, if there's anyone who'd be willing to help me do a bit of research, let me know!

Hi Rob, do you have some news with your investigation? I am just curious what limitation (HW/SW) is used for ThinkPad R50e - why its Intel GPU can't drive the SXGA+ LCD when it could drive the same resolution on external display through VGA port

Afraid not. Without the necessary hardware I can't really test out my theory regarding SXGA+ display -- and I'm not exactly eager to buy all the hardware on the off-chance that I'm right!
