T43 restarts after shutdown or when disconnecting from ACDC

I have a very strange issue:

My T43 restarts in two specific situations:

1. It restarts after shutdown (except when I pull out the battery first)
2. When in sleepmodus or when it is shut down, the t43 will restart as soon as disconnecting it from it's power supply. (except when I pull out the battery first).

I tried another power supply and an other battery pack, both without any effect.
I checked bios and power settings: nothing abnormal.


specs:
- Windows 7, 2 Gb internal memory.
- Bios is updated.

who know the solution for this issue?

Do you use latest BIOS and Embedded controller firmware versions?

Regarding the bios & embedded controller firmware versions: as far as I know, yes. How can I check?

Go to the BIOS (press F1 key when you see the IBM Logo) and check versions of the following items:

- BIOS version: newest is 1.29
- Embedded Controller version: newest is 1.06

If you've older versions, update it first.

The answer I found was to change the settings in my Windows XP box.
Go to Control Panel --> System --> Advanced --> Start Up and Recovery
uncheck the box that invokes a restart following a system failure.

That worked for me. Hope it helps.

@lukee: I just updated the BIOS & embedded software.

Took a while since I had to arrange 1) a 3,5'' diskette, 2) an external diskette drive and 3) a XP-PC to build the bootable diskettes.
(@plumguy: the checkbox "restart after system failure" was already unchecked)


BUT: the system still restarts

What is the next step?
