Best ext DVI LCD monitor for SXGA+?

#1 Post by mizzle » Sun Apr 03, 2005 10:22 pm

Hi, I have a T41p and recently I have been thinking of getting an external LCD monitor to work with it. I want to get a LCD monitor that works well with the SXGA+ (1400x1050) resolution so I can work with the same resolution when I am on the road and at home. What LCD monitor would you recommend?

Thanks in advance,
Jasper

Given the L200p supports 1600x1200 natively (I assume), how does it look when running in 1400x1050? I currently have a Sony 20" LCD but the text looks somewhat fuzzy when running in 1400x1050 (via DVI) and obviously with black borders all around.

Has anyone tried using those wide screen LCD monitors in SXGA+? Those supporting 1920x1200 or 1650x1050?

Regards,
Jasper

Finding an external monitor with 1400x1050 Native resolution will be HARD. Most go straight from 1280 to 1600. What I cannot understand is why your Sony monitor (I assume it runs at 1600x1200) looks fuzzy at 1400x1050 since you claim that it already has black borders filling up the extra res (ie no "screen expansion" is enabled). In that case it should be using 1400x1050 pixels and therefore be as clear as the Thinkpad screenn

I thought running 1400x1050 in 1600x1200 native mode should be pretty clear too... I will try it with another monitor and see if it's a monitor problem or not.
