Choppy on-line video using T43: any solutions?!
Re: Choppy on-line video using T43: any solutions?!
(... do you have an opinion about CPU on the T500 versus Core Duo or Core Duo 2 (I haven't looked at its specs yet, so maybe they are all Core Duo II, don't know)?

CPUs used on T500 (and W500 which would be my preferred choice if you can handle a heavy 15.4" machine) are Core 2 Duo, and more than fast enough for daily use...

Re: Choppy on-line video using T43: any solutions?!
I bought the T500, video display is better, but still choppy. Strangely, the choppiness varies by web-source: HBO-GO is good, Hulu is OK but some delay, and web-NBC is very choppy, as bad as the T43 I used to have.
I am running Chrome... Also, Hulu seems to be degrading, 2 months ago it was netter than now. I have appropriate Virus protection, weekly scan, etc. Does memory matter? Do I need the max 4 gig (with a 432 bit OS), or is the CPU more important in these things?
I got Veebeam for Xmas and this has become a real problem with broadcasting USB to my flat screen..,.,
Thank you!

Re: Choppy on-line video using T43: any solutions?!
We've mentioned internet bandwidth a couple of times in this thread, but I don't see where you ever revealed your speed. It has seemed to me all along that your choppy video is likely a result of your bandwidth more than your computer's specs.
Go to http://speedtest.net/ and then post the results here, just to make sure that this is not the bottleneck.

Collection = T500 - R400 - X300 - X200 - T61 (14" WXGA+) - T61 (14.1" SXGA+) - T60 (15" SXGA+) - X40 - T43p - T43 - T42p - A30P - 600E

Well, the Veebeam is usb so wireless (56 mbps: I think this is the limit of wireless?)
Re: Choppy on-line video using T43: any solutions?!
... but excellent suggestion, I tested and my wireless is far below what it should be (...what I am paying for!). I will talk to my ISP!
