Difference between T20 and T22 fan?

#1 Post by DM3MD » Wed Apr 06, 2005 12:41 pm

New to the forum, great info so far... just got a used T20 that I'm looking to upgrade.

It currently has a 700mhz CPU and I plan on upgrading to 1ghz. From what I've read here, I will need to get a T22 fan... ebay seems to be the place to go, but there are a lot of ambiguous auctions. Is there a way to visually determine if a fan is a newer T22 fan as opposed to one from a T20 that would be "compatible" with a T21, T22, etc. but wouldn't be good for a faster CPU.

Thanks!

The T22 fan/heatsink assembly is larger than the T20 fan assembly.
I just had a T20 750 and a T22 1ghz apart the other day and compared the differences. There also is a heat tube assembly in the T22 to carry the heat to/from the area under the trackpoint.
