As some might remember, I have a T43p that suffered from the south bridge issue. While I'm still waiting for a motherboard replacement I'm starting to look at other options. We found an R52 which had issues with the screen (unsold auction). The seller says that the computer works fine when attached to an external monitor, so what I'm wondering is if the UXGA screen from the T43p will work with this laptop (despite it having Intel graphics)? As I understand it the T43 and the R52s are basically the same laptop, so it would seem like it should work, but a search on this forum seems to indicate I might need a few parts from a UXGA R50p?
While I'm at it I guess I should also ask to confirm if the 2.13GHz processor from the T43p will work with the R52 as well.

UXGA LCD will NOT work with Intel 900 integrated graphics. Period.
T43p boards are inexpensive enough nowadays...take it from someone who is presently too scared to count all the T43/p units he has lying around...

Thanks for the quick response. While I'm going to take your word for it at this point, I just looked up the specs of the GMA 900, according to Intel it should have a max resolution of 2048x1536?ajkula66 wrote:UXGA LCD will NOT work with Intel 900 integrated graphics. Period.

Re: Resurrecting T43p with R52?
Max resolution has nothing to do with the issue at hand.
You won't get the board and the LCD to "talk" since IBM made sure to disable that possibility. You'll get the CCFL to light up, but no image on the screen.
On external monitor you can run QXGA or whatever, but *not* on the internal LCD.
IBM did not play nice when it came to boards with Intel graphics, hence no SXGA+ in any shape or form on R51, and no UXGA on R52...
