My Thinkpad T430 !!

#1 Post by thinkpadin » Sun Jan 27, 2013 11:19 am

Hi,

After weeks of checking the specs, checking the reviews, going through various threads and posts and reviews of Thinkpad X vs Thinkpad Y, and yeah, after weeks of saving money, today I finally bought my T430!!

Its awesome !!

Tends to get a little warm, but I guess that's normal.

The new chicklet keyboard isn't as bad as I had imagined it to be. The feel of the keys is good.

Overall the laptop feels solid. Feels awesome to finally own my dream laptop.

Check out the pics.

Wow, a very nice laptop you have there!

I'm hoping to buy a nice shiny new Thinkpad when I go to Uni (hopefully!) next year (T440?), I'm actually looking forward to using a chicklet keyboard! Until then I'm sticking with my T61.

Hi fleming164 and Wolfman,

Thanks for the comments.

I have bought the thinkpad as I want a mobile vmware lab and some scripting stuff.

Great to own it.

fleming164 - All the best for your future purchase. T61 is awesome. I happened to use a T60 back when I was working for IBM. That was one rock solid, dependable and tough laptop. The keyboard on it was so great that it improved my typing speed and accuracy.

Back then, I had left the T60 continuously on for about a week or so, all the while downloading 2-3 ISO files, doing office work, watching movies etc but no issues. It kept chugging and didn't seem to bother :)

Finally, I am a proud owner the Rock Solid Black Machine!!

You'll be pleased with the machine in that role, I use VMs on my T420 often and it does a nice job for that (RAM upgrade definitely helps).

Hi Wolfman,

Thanks for the update. I had asked a question about having a mobile VMWare Lab (Planning to study for VCP 5.0) and had asked the same question there.

You had given a quite detailed reply.

Thanks for your inputs. And it feels good to be in a forum where you get genuine help. :)
